About the Role
Under the supervision of a licensed engineer, perform engineering tasks to plan and oversee elements of large-scale infrastructure projects valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. This is an opportunity to work with one of the largest and most respected heavy civil contractors globally, specializing in major roads, highways, bridges, and large design-build initiatives throughout Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead stakeholder meetings to share progress updates, schedules, issues, and technical challenges on projects over $100M
- Coordinate collection and distribution of technical information between internal teams and project owners
- Review technical data and specifications during construction to confirm compliance with contracts and standards
- Provide technical guidance, respond to RFIs, and manage Non-Conformance Report resolutions
- Identify potential conflicts/delays by analyzing workflows; recommend process improvements
- Schedule and monitor construction activities on projects over $100M to ensure on-time completion
- Estimate quantities, maintain bills of materials and budgets per specifications
- Manage construction by negotiating subcontractor contracts/change orders and ensuring quality
- Schedule and conduct QC/QA inspections
- Oversee implementation of the Safety, Health & Environmental program
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on experience with Cast-In-Place (CIP) concrete walls from layout through placement and curing
- Working knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, and quality requirements
- Prior experience on FDOT roadway/bridge projects including formwork, reinforcing steel, and inspections
- Minimum 3 years in civil infrastructure project engineering on projects over $50M
- Experience negotiating/managing subcontractor contracts and change orders on large-scale projects
- Proven skills in cost estimation and financial analysis on projects over $50M
