📐 Senior Project Engineer, Heavy Civil

About the Role

A large heavy civil highway and bridge contractor is hiring a Senior Project Engineer for a Turnpike program in Polk County, on jobs over $100 million. This is a contractor side engineering seat with real ownership of the paperwork, the quantities and the cost, plus hands on time with the cast in place wall work.

What You'll Do

• Manage RFIs, NCRs and submittals
• Own the schedule, quantities and bills of materials
• Get supplier quotes and track cost against the bid
• Handle subcontracts and change orders
• Coordinate inspections and survey
• Follow cast in place walls from layout through placement and curing

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field
• Hands on cast in place wall experience: retaining, MSE, sound walls, bridge approach and wing walls
• FDOT standards, specifications and QC, and able to read FDOT plans and shop drawings
• FDOT roadway or bridge project experience
• 3+ years of project engineering or construction management on civil infrastructure jobs over $50 million
• Subcontracts, change orders, estimating and cost analysis
