🌙 Roadway / Utility Superintendent, Night Work (NCDOT)

About the Role

An established self perform heavy civil contractor with work across North Carolina and Virginia is hiring a Roadway / Utility Superintendent for a night project in the Hickory area. You run the night shift on roadway and underground utility work, much of it NCDOT. A Roadway Superintendent, Utility Superintendent or seasoned General Foreman with DOT night work experience fits. Hickory and Foothills locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Do

• Run the night shift on a roadway and utility project, start to finish
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen
• Schedule subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries
• Plan each night's work and hold the project schedule
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance
• Manage traffic control and lane closures inside approved night windows
• Work directly with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers
• Track installed quantities, daily reports and crew time

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway or underground utility experience at the superintendent or senior foreman level
• Proven night work on DOT roadway or utility projects
• Ready for a full time night schedule; this project is 100% night work
• Working knowledge of grading, storm drainage, water and sewer, and paving sequencing
• Solid work zone traffic control knowledge
• Valid driver's license
• NCDOT experience, OSHA 30 and HCSS HeavyJob are a plus
