🏗️ Project Manager, Heavy Civil (NCDOT Roadway and Utility)

About the Role

A self-perform heavy civil contractor in the Raleigh Triangle is hiring a Project Manager to run NCDOT roadway and utility projects. This is a confidential search. You own the job from preconstruction through closeout, report directly to senior leadership, and work with crews who self perform the work you manage. If you want real ownership of your projects without layers of management between you and the decisions, this is the seat.

What You'll Do

• Own NCDOT roadway and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Build and manage the budget, schedule, and cost forecasts
• Lead buyout, subcontract and supplier agreements, and change orders
• Run owner meetings and work directly with NCDOT resident engineers and inspectors
• Manage quantities, pay estimates, and monthly cost reporting
• Partner with superintendents and self perform crews on sequencing, production, and traffic control
• Keep safety and quality at the front of every job
• Report project status and financials to senior leadership

What You'll Need

• NCDOT project experience (required)
• Proven track record as a Project Manager on heavy civil roadway, utility, or site work
• Experience managing cost and schedule on self perform work
• Clear, confident communication with owners, inspectors, and field crews
• Viewpoint Vista or HCSS HeavyJob experience a plus
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, or equivalent field experience
• Raleigh Triangle based or open to relocating
