🏗️ Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer – Heavy Civil

About the Role

Support and lead engineering functions on a major FDOT interstate widening program in the Naples area. This is an opportunity to join one of the largest and most respected heavy civil contractors globally, specializing in major roads, highways, bridges, and large design-build initiatives throughout Florida. The seat is open at the Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer level — where you land depends on your experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support stakeholder meetings covering progress, schedules, issues, and technical challenges on a $100M+ FDOT corridor
• Coordinate collection and distribution of technical information between field teams, the owner, and CEI
• Review technical data and specifications during construction to confirm compliance with contracts and FDOT standards
• Provide technical guidance, respond to RFIs, manage submittals and Non-Conformance Report resolutions
• Estimate quantities, maintain bills of materials and budgets per specifications
• Schedule and monitor construction activities — MOT phasing, earthwork, drainage, structures, and paving
• Negotiate and manage subcontractor contracts and change orders (senior level)
• Schedule and conduct QC/QA inspections
• Support implementation of the Safety, Health & Environmental program

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Working knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, and quality requirements
• Prior experience on DOT roadway/bridge projects — formwork, reinforcing steel, and inspections a plus
• Project Engineer: 2+ years in civil infrastructure project engineering; Senior: 5+ years on projects over $50M
• Proven skills in quantity takeoff, cost tracking, and financial analysis
• Naples / Southwest Florida–based or open to relocation — assistance available
