About the Role
A large heavy civil highway and bridge contractor is hiring a Project Engineer for FDOT work in St. Petersburg. You are the engineer on the job, working hand in hand with the superintendent and Project Manager to keep submittals, quantities, and cost moving so the field can build. Big projects, real responsibility, and a team that backs you.
What You'll Do
- Manage RFIs and submittals from start to approval
- Track quantities and installed work for pay estimates
- Track cost against budget and flag issues early
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers on schedule and scope
- Work daily with the superintendent on sequencing and production
- Support the Project Manager on change orders, reporting, and owner meetings
- Coordinate with FDOT and CEI inspectors on documentation and quality
What You'll Need
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Project engineering experience on heavy civil highway or bridge work
- FDOT project experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable with quantities, cost tracking, and project documentation
- Able to work onsite in the St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay area
