🌙 Roadway / Utility Superintendent — Night Work

An established heavy civil general contractor in the Hickory, NC area is hiring a Roadway / Utility Superintendent to run the night shift on an active DOT roadway and underground utility project. This is hands-on field leadership after dark — you own the crew, the traffic control, and the production while the road is closed to daytime traffic.

What You'll Do

• Run the night-shift crew on active DOT roadway and utility work — grading, underground utilities, storm / sewer / water, and paving
• Own maintenance-of-traffic (MOT) phasing and traffic control for nighttime lane closures
• Coordinate active utility crossings — water, sewer, storm, and dry utilities
• Direct foremen, operators, and subcontractors on site through the shift
• Enforce OSHA and trench-safety compliance and hold production to schedule
• Track daily quantities, cost codes, and progress in HCSS

Requirements

• 10+ years as a heavy civil / DOT superintendent on roadway and underground utility projects
• Proven night-work experience with MOT and lane-closure management
• OSHA 30, MOT certification, and trench-safety competency
• Hands-on background in underground utilities, dirt, grading, and DOT roadway scopes
• HCSS or comparable field / production software
• NC-based or relocatable — Hickory-area commute

Compensation

• $130,000 – $160,000 base salary, depending on experience
