🚜 Earthwork Superintendent, Heavy Highway

About the Role

A large heavy civil highway and bridge contractor is hiring an Earthwork Superintendent for FDOT highway work in Sarasota. You run the dirt side of the job: grade, slope, drainage and the crews that build it. You own crew safety, daily production and the plan for each day, and you work hand in hand with the project team to keep the job on schedule.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate earthwork crews and field employees
• Own crew safety and carry the company safety program into the field
• Turn the project plan and schedule into prioritized daily crew work plans
• Hold production goals and adjust crews and equipment as the job changes
• Spot schedule conflicts early and report them
• Approve material requisitions and keep crew time reporting accurate
• Complete the daily reports the project requires

What You'll Need

• 5+ years in heavy highway construction with a strong grasp of grade, slope and drainage
• Able to read drawings and interpret specifications
• Strong scheduling and planning skills
• Clean Florida or Georgia driver's license
• Ready for 10 hour days, 5 days a week and occasionally 6, outdoors and around live traffic
• FDOT earthwork, mass earthwork, storm drainage and OSHA 30 are a plus
• Spanish is a plus
